Indigenous Reconciliation

December, 2025

London Reconciliation Network

The London Reconciliation Network (LRN) is an effort being done at the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, London to create an interactive network for all Vincentians and other interested participants to learn and act on reconciliation efforts with Indigenous Peoples across Ontario and Canada. As a lay Catholic organization, we can take actions and advocate for a better understanding and relational engagement with our Indigenous sisters and brothers. There are ample statistics which demonstrate the negative effect poverty and the criminal justice system has on Indigenous Peoples. Our dedication to both charity and justice inspires us with the desire to act and advocate for systemic change in structures contribute to these issues. Please join our efforts as we work towards true reconciliation. Our goals:

  1. Create a network in Ontario and across Canada which is dedicated to a sincere effort towards reconciliation with our Indigenous sisters and brothers.
  2. To gather and share resources that inform and educate LRN members and others regarding Indigenous histories, faith traditions, laws, cultures, and our shared concerns for the environment.
  3. Engage with and include the Indigenous community in a mutual effort to develop future actions and advocacy.
  4. To develop actions that can alleviate immediate poverty and its damaging effect on Indigenous Peoples.
  5. To advocate for systemic change to social structures including criminal justice which present barriers to Indigenous Peoples.
  6. To work towards an inter faith collaborative reconciliation effort within our community leading to more effective results.
Please check back for future resource material which you can share with your membership and others.
