Cover Me With Love, January, 2026

On January 18, 2026, the Cover Me with Love giveaway took place at the St. Vincent De Paul Store York St. parking lot. This year's collection was outstanding. With the co-operation of conferences at St George’s, Holy Family, St Andrew’s, and the Youth Conference, we had more than enough winter wear and volunteers to serve over 130 friends living in the cold.

The event was planned with city agencies that directly work with the unhoused population of London, including London Cares and 519 Pursuit. It was advertised through Second Harvest and delivering flyers to agencies that serve the unhoused and low-income residents. Dealing with -10 temperatures, energetic volunteers were able to get everything out of the store basement and displayed it before 1pm. We even had a resident from the Men Mission help with lugging tables and clothing. They were there waiting when the first volunteers arrived at 11:30. They were very eager to work. We had William’s and Nick’s Food truck serve a hot and delicious rice, pork and chickpeas dish that was enjoyed by all. Everyone left with warm and cozy winter wear. There were many thanks given from the people who we helped. Any leftover clothing will be donated to local agencies to be distributed.
